Privacy Policy
I Was Nice to AI is a small hobby project. This page explains what it stores, where, and how to get rid of it. Questions or requests: henrythetester@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
Exhibits you file as Private · This Device, drafts, receipts, and anything you file without signing in are saved only in your browser. They are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so keep your receipts.
What we store when you save online
- Your account: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. We use it only to know which exhibits are yours.
- Public exhibits: the title, story, name on the record, dates, original link, screenshot (if you choose to show it), share card, Tribunal verdict, and the technical record (fingerprint, salt and blockchain reference). Anyone with the link can read a public exhibit, it can appear on the wall on the home page, and search engines may index it.
- Private exhibits saved to your account (Private · Your Account): the same details and a copy of your screenshot, stored so that only your account can read them. They are not encrypted end to end, so the people who run this site could technically access them. We don’t look at them unless the law requires it.
- Reports: the reason and any details someone writes when reporting an exhibit. Reports don’t include who sent them.
The blockchain record
Every exhibit, private or public, gets a fingerprint: a 64-character code calculated from its contents and a random salt. The fingerprint is written to a public blockchain (currently Base Sepolia, Base’s public test network) through the Ethereum Attestation Service. It contains none of your words, but it can’t be deleted by anyone, including us.
Analytics and technical data
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and actions such as “filed an exhibit” without cookies and without identifying you. Our server briefly uses your IP address to limit abuse; our hosting providers keep standard access logs.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel hosts the site and runs the analytics.
- Supabase stores accounts, exhibits saved online and their screenshots.
- Google handles sign-in if you choose “Continue with Google”.
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr serve the fonts and a sign-in library to your browser.
These providers may process data outside your country. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
Exhibits saved online stay until you take them down, a moderator removes them, or you delete your account. Taking an exhibit down deletes it, its screenshot and its share card right away. Copies other people saved, and the blockchain fingerprint, can’t be recalled.
Your choices and rights
- Take down any exhibit you saved online yourself, from My Record.
- Ask us to delete your account and everything linked to it, or for a copy of your data, by writing to henrythetester@gmail.com.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as correcting your data or complaining to a data protection authority.
Age
Publishing requires being 16 or older. If you believe a younger person has published here, report the exhibit or contact us and we’ll remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top. Big changes will be pointed out on the site.
